Matt Butler_

Matt was born 7th of 8 children in rural, northern Canada. He thrived in nature from the earliest age and honed his survival skills in the wilderness. Dog sledding and ice hockey were replaced by nordic ski racing where he competed for his country at the International level. During University, he worked 9 seasons with Canada´s Provincial & National Park services in various roles including mountain rescue & guiding at the Colombia Icefield region in Jasper. He also lived in Australia and worked as a qualified teacher in Malawi, China, Great Britain and Spain before retiring from the profession and returning to his passion – designing and leading adventures. Matt, with his wife Julie are the co-founders of Adventurebug. They have travelled the world extensively, leading years of expeditions and tours to incredible destinations and empowering students to pursue their passions and purpose. Matt is a specialist in rock climbing, alpine summits, ski & snowboarding, cycling, surfing, nature hikes, cultural guiding and more.

He is also co-founder of The Rif Community Foundation (www.rifcom.org), a non-profit charity that delivers community support in rural Morocco and he is a Trustee of The Kindred Project (https://www.sis.ac/community/the-kindred-project/), a student-initiated global NGO Charity. Matt resides at base camp in Andalucia, Spain with his wife Julie and their 3 children.

Julie Butler_

A qualified teacher and adventure leader in her own right, Julie runs the back office and deals with all the logistics and planning of your trip and managing your expeditions.

Jeff Lacey_

Originally from Oregon, USA, Jeff has spent most of his life in Southern Spain.  A qualified sports coach and a passionate cyclist, Jeff divides his time between his daughter Lily and his love for music – drumming in particular.  Jeff is found leading multi adventure excursions, cycle tours, team building events and just about everything else Adventurebug can throw at him.

Gayle Mackie_

Scottish Gayle is a specialist in culture, history and in particular gastronomy and wine – having created her own top rated brand of tapas and wine tours in Granada.  Gayle is a highly competent tour manager who effortlessly balances trip quality and safety – leaving our clients with the highest level of satisfaction.

Domin Doms_

Dom is an adventure travel specialist who blends his highly energetic and positive vibe with everyone in his path.  If not leading motorcycle tours across the Sahara, or co-leading Adventurebug challenges up mountain summits, he´s kite surfing in Tarifa or taking his own kids on adventures from Europe to West Africa.

Tom Cawthorn_

Tom recently departed the finance world to return to his passion for coaching, leadership and all things adventure based.  Tom runs his own brand of multi activities in his home base of Gibraltar and he moonlights with Adventurebug leading trips and co-leading our team building events and charity challenges in Africa.

Stephen Watson_

When not seeking wind to power his sail or kite, Stephen is found on the open road cycling or teaching yoga in the rural Andalucian village he calls home.  With a background in wind & kite surf instruction and years of experience in adventure leadership and cycle tours, Stephen plays an important role in Adventurebug´s diverse operations.

Alberto Azcon Said_

New to the team, Granada based Alberto is a passionate mountain leader and doesn´t hide from his love for conservation and all things natural.  Alberto can be found leading Adventurebug hiking and school based adventures – including strapping on the skis for our winter snow camps in the Sierra Nevada.

Roberto Rodriguez_

Roberto is a highly competent tour manager and specialist in the areas of culture, history and leading tapas / wine tours in his beloved home city Granada.  His soft spoken, gentle manner immediately connects guests and reminds them to surrender to the spirit of travel and discovery.

Kapil Deval_

Kapil Deval is our highly competent Tour Leader from Rajasthan, India. His knowledge base of nearly every region of India (including Sri Lanka, Nepal & Bhutan), is astonishing and Adventurebug has done a number of superb adventures with him over the years. Kapil is extremely intuitive and passionate about guiding and he always makes visitors feel at ease in his country of over a billion people!

Khalid Qukraou_

Khalid Oukraou is a certified mountain and desert guide from Morocco´s Sahara region. His years of experience in providing both logistics and guiding for our expeditions is hugely important to the Adventurebug team. From summit climbs of Toubkal to crossing the Sahara on foot, camel or bicycle, Khalid ensures the best quality and safety ratio for Adventurebug participants.

Rui Medeiros_

Rui Medeiros hails from the Azores, Portugal´s wonderful island group in the central Atlantic. A born and bred Azorian, Rui has a wonderful, calm island manner and he´s an absolute fountain of knowledge with great passion for the islands. Whether it´s hiking, sightseeing or discovering Azorian wine, tasty gastronomy, ceramics or nature, Rui covers it all!

Colin Hiles_

Colin Hiles is a certified professional coaching master and keynote speaker. His work on mindset shifts & purpose planning is world renown as he spends much of his time travelling the planet sharing his wisdom. Above all Colin is a great friend of ours, a fellow surfer and outdoor lover and whenever possible, on the Adventurebug team facilitating our corporate teams with his executive coaching skills & inspirational tools!

Kezan_

Kezan is our Bhutanese hiking and cultural guide. Born and raised in this Himalayan kingdom, Kezan is one of Bhutan´s most sought after trip leaders. Whether offering us butter tea and lentils or walking us over a roaring river, Kezan exemplifies grace and wisdom. It´s no wonder Bhutan values GROSS NATIONAL HAPPINESS over everything else!

Elias Lyimo_

Elias is a highly experienced Tanzanian Safari and Expedition Leader. Owner of African Wilderness Safaris, Elias is a solid foundation for our expeditions, challenges and tours throughout Tanzania and Kenya. He is a true inspiration on Kili´s summit as well as a highly competent tour operator for all our needs.
