ITINERARY

DAY 1: (Sunday)
Afternoon Malaga Airport group collection and transfer to the spectacular "hanging mountain village" of Casares for the next two nights.  Evening village exploration with guide and tapas / drinks welcome night!

DAY 2: (Monday)
Cycle a wide variety of tracks and terrain in the Casares region - including high view point riding, single track and if you desire, a visit to the rustic Roman Pools - used by Caesar to cure his ailments.  Later a visit to the Med beaches for a cold beer before returning to Casares by mini bus.
Riding Time - 2-3 hours / Level - Moderate

DAY 3: (Tuesday)
Descend to the Rio Genal and ride into the lush forests and hills of the Valley Genal towards our next village, Benarabba. Single track, mountain road, river swims and old Smuggler's passages take us into this magical valley. We pass though the lower section of the valley and if you're feeling a little tired, feel free to catch our minibus at one of our checkpoints! This day promises to provide great mountain bike touring - followed by a night in a tranquil, remote village set in its own world!
Riding Time - 3-4 hours / Level - Moderate

DAY 4: (Wednesday)
This morning we are transferred a short distance by mini-bus to a breathtaking starting point then a long, gentle descent into the Valley Guadiaro. Once in the valley we follow the lush river bed along a roller coaster like single track for a further 7 km bringing us to the exotic terrain of Benaojan and Montejaque villages - site of prehistoric cave dwellings. Our next two nights are spent in a centrally based hotel on the bustling main plaza of Montejaque.
Riding Time - 3-4 hours / Level - Moderate

DAY 5: (Thursday)
Free Day! A chance to put your feet up in the cafes around the square or to hop on the short bus ride into the Historical town of Ronda for a bit of site seeing. If in Ronda, you'll definitely want to check out Spain's First Bullring and the gorge that divides the new town from the old. Also be sure to check out such haunts found in Hemingway novels and even the burial site of Orson Wells! If you are really ambitious you can trek around the many great routes surrounding Montejaque - including the 25,000 year old cave paintings on this fascinating tour.

DAY 6: (Friday)
This morning we will pass over yet another range by bike and enter one of Spain's most beautiful nature reserves, Grazalema National Park. Here we wind our way around moon-like terrain and steep canyons. The village of Grazalema itself is a breath of fresh air with its endless mountain views and charming cafes and pubs. In the evening we can drive up to a lookout area to witness a magical reservoir below and views reaching far into mainland Spain - a great place to spot Eagles and Vultures as well!
Riding Time - 3-4 hours / Level - Moderate

DAY 7: (Saturday)
Our final riding day and a real treat - the massive downhill descent between Ronda and the Mediterranean coast - an outstanding journey by mountain bike and a great way to complete such a rural adventure! We figure that a final night on the coast - although very different from the last 6 nights, would be a great memory after all your efforts. A final dinner with the group, perhaps visiting a few of the beach bars and cafes to celebrate your achievements followed by a late night stroll along a sandy beach is a perfect way to put the trip in perspective!
Riding Time - 3-4 hours / Level - Moderate

DAY 8: (Sunday)
Breakfast followed by return transport to Malaga Airport
.
