Hostal Casares

OVERVIEW

The view from the terrace of the Hostal CasaresBrand spankingly new yet traditionally Andalucian in every way. Our first and final base for most of the trekking excursions is located in the historical area of the village of Casares. Tightly nestled in a maze of white washed alley ways with breathtaking views as far as Africa's rift mountain range, you will enjoy the security and comforts of modern services, a private bathroom/shower and warm, Andaluz hospitality. Your hosts, Sonia and Jorge, Casarians themselves are proud of their local culture and set high standards for the service provided by their establishment.

The building itself, situated on Copera Street - an ancient quarter dating back to the 16th Century became the residence for the Cofradia, a 17/18th century religious brotherhood and winegrowing guild. Remnants of this era still exist such as the Plaza de la Fuente, the Church of the Encarncion and the magnificant castle perched above the village itself. From your terrace you will no doubt witness the unchanged history of the village as locals go about their domestic tasks and farm animals appear from petite blue doors to the surprise of those passing by.

In the morning, and at your own leisure, you can enjoy the abundant buffet breakfast and café con leche from the scenic lounge above the village before we set off at an easy pace for the day's activities. In the evening, the hostal's recently opened restaurant will offer you a selection of Andalucian delicacies that are arguably the best in the region. The presentation and quality of food is admirable. It was this hostal and its outstanding hospitality, services and location that helped secure Casares as our starting base for most of The Adventure Bug's excursions! We are certain that you will agree with us why.
